What's new

Just found an amazing aftershave balm to replace my Nivea Sensitive

So in the winter I like to use balms after a splash. Like many here I have been using the Nivea Sensitive ASB. No real complaints but I stumbled upon one that is just way better. Last year I got a gift card for dollar shave club. Since I DE shave I buy there aftershave balms, and other products. Well they just released this one and its awesome.

Dr. Carvers Miracle Repair Serum.

It is in a nice glass bottle. It is unscented, goes on extremely slick and smooth. Very light. Non greasy. Makes Nivea seem heavy. Also has a pretty nice ingredient list. Definitely worth giving a shot. It really impressed me.

  • Cypress Berry — antiseptic (kills bacteria), styptic (helps to accelerate healing of nicks, scratches and cuts)
  • Solomon’s Seal — helps to reduce inflammation
  • Arnica Flower — helps to eliminate and diffuse redness/razor burn
  • Salicylic Acid — exfoliates dead skin cells and reduces oils for help with ingrown hairs
  • White Tea — anti-oxidant protection
  • Blueberry Extract — fights signs of aging
Full List

Water/Aqua/Eau, Hyaluronic Acid, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Ceteareth-20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Ceteareth-12, Cetyl Palmitate, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Polygonatum Officinale Rhizome/Root Extract, Hordeum Vulgare Extract, Cupressus Sempervirens Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Do we know the amonut of Salicylic Acid in the product? Just be careful after a rough shave as it could make you skin inflammed and cause sensitivity. 1% is okay but anything above 1.5% do not use after shaving. Trust me, I put on 2% after a rough shave. Not a good experience.

I couldn't find anything on the site or bottle about how much. good to know though. thanks

You gotta love the name: "Dr. Carvers Miracle Repair Serum, Formula No. 103-77"

Makes me want to look for snake oil in the ingredients...:001_rolle

Seriously...looks like good stuff.

Looks like a very good product. I can't find Dr. Carvers Miracle Repair Serum on their website, though.

I noticed that too when on the site but when I log into my account it shows up. It is new so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also it is $12 for 2 oz so a little on the expensive side but I really like it and am ordering another bottle.
