Just spent some money for my first shave and skin care purchase other then the canned stuff and cartridge razors... Here's to not lopping off anymore then whiskers!

I went DE with a Merkur HD and grabbed a best badger brush from EJ also a sampler of blades, cella cream with dreadnought pre shave and post shave oils. Round that off with a col conk almond soap (wanna try soaps and creams) and an alum block... Here's hoping I made some good first choices!

I think you'll especially love the Cella. It's delicious, in a non-edible way. I started with the Conk as well, and it's really pretty decent...you'll need to use more of that product to get the lather you want, but it can be done.

Patience is truly a virtue you will need to acquire to become adept with a proper razor. It took me three months to start to get the hang of it. Then after one more month experimenting with many different types of razors and blades, I can now say that I can easily get a good shave with quite a few combinations or razors and blades.
