. Since my last adventure I have tried a pre-shave oil ( From Art of Shaving so please don't hate) and I finally bought an Alum Block. The pre shave oil was fine--just showed my lack of technique. But the Alum Block--I can hear some biblical song when I first used it. That "zing" you feel from poor shaving jobs is great. I have had ZERO ingrown hairs or horrible irritation since I started. And a "NEW" co-workere who PCS'ed in is also a DE shaver. This week he let me borrow his 1930's comb DE. I used it for the first time today and loved it. I used a Derby blade instead of the usual Feather I use with my Murker--and I got a great shave. Sure a bit of irritation due to first time use. So now that I'm in a more permanent setting I cannot wait to be a regular
