Just bought my first straight razor

And I need some ID help.

Was in an antique store and found this. Got it on the cheap. Not sure if It's restorable for use, or if it will become my honing practice blade. I've never shaved w a straight, yet, but want to eventually. From what I've seen out and about, I'm going here when I buy. So many good deals out there.

It's a Smith Brothers Howe out of Columbus and Our Shaver is etched on the blade. It won't cut the hair on my arm, so I know it will take a lot of work and one side of the scales is cracked. It's a project, what can I say

Any thoughts on this? Is it restorable?

It should clean up nice. Clean, hone and shave.

Ok how??? Where is a good thread for this? Thinking of buying some Maas for my DEs. Would that work on this?
