What's new

June & July are High Efficiency Razor Months.....

20210728_195829-01-01.jpeg

Razor: Karve Stainless Steel Safety Bar "F"-plate
Blade: vintage Polsilver Stainless (8)

Evening shave. Again a pleasant and smooth. Maybe I noticed a slight loss in terms of sharpness (shave no.8 on this vintage Polsilver Stainless), but finally I sit here with a BBS shave and a calm skin again. What more could you ask for?

Today's setup (hardware and software) was just about perfect. Maybe all I had needed was a sip of Riesling during the passes to get me totally into that zen state....

Enjoy your shaves, y'all!

I think this fits, Gents
High Efficiency SOTD

Razor:
Ti 95 SB
Blade: Gillette Platinum (4)
Brush: Shavemac 26/52
Soap: Dutch Resistance
ASL: the "Veg"
ASB: Nivea balm

I got out my blue plastic Timeless bowl for lathering today, and it seemed like it took a bit of time, but I got a very slick lather out of it.
It was so slick that I just buffed away, N-S, S-N, on the lower part of my neck. I could barely feel the blade, but I could feel it slicing through and reducing the stubble as the razor just seemed to glide over my skin.
The lower part of my neck is also the most prone to irritation, and there was none today, the comfort level being equal or slightly better than my Slim on #4, while being more efficient.

I am finding the licorice scent pleasant, not overpowering in any way at all, and seems to pair nicely with the "Veg" and Layrite No 9.

Very nice shave.

Finishing up the high efficiency month with one of my best and most efficient set-up.

RazoRock Wunderbar
Feather blade
Semogue Owner's Club Boar in Cherry
Cella EEBO aka Green
Patanjali Tulsi Neem as pre shave wash
Witch Hazel

3 pass BBS shave with the Wunderbar and I'm very happy with the glass like feel on the face, it seems I'm transported back to my pre teen age with no facial hair.

Use my Wunderbar last night and it was a great shave, smooth. It made me wonder why don't use it more.

I agree completely.
I just got it this week and it completed my razor rotation with Game Changer 84 Open Comb and Lupo 95.

A 2 Pass + touch up is all I need for a very satisfying shave.

I actually definitely prefer it over my Above The Tie Slant (S1, S2).
I think Razorock razors are a great value.
Lupo 95 is one I'm liking too. Kind of gives me a break from some high Gap razors I have.

Lupo 95 is great, I love it.

It worked beautifully with the Shark Super Chrome blade.
It actually sang with the blade.

Game Changer 84 Open Comb worked exceptionally well with Feather blade.
I got glass like shave with Feather blade.

BBS (standard) worked well with Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum blades.

Feather blade did not have any noticeable improvement in the BBS standard plate razor efficiency, so I'm thinking of getting the AS plate of BBS to give it more bite, I like the smoothness of the BBS razor.

I too don't like big blade gaps, I can however work well with blade exposure.
