JR Watkins natural lotions. Any thoughts or experience?

I saw this line at my local health food store the other day and really like the natural approach they seem to be taking. I also really like the old-timey graphics and vibe.

I was thinking about using the lotion as an aftershave treatment since my girlfriend is allergic to a lot of the scents in regular aftershaves.

I haven't tried the lotion, but I did have a chance to sample the lemon hand cream. Definitely usable, but the scent was really food-like. Smelled a lot like a lemon meringue pie. I like citrus scented creams and lotions, so I wonder if the lotion will also smell like a lemon dessert.

Has anyone tried this product line?

I bought a tube of JR Watkins Lemon Cream Shea Butter Hand Repair Moisturizer last winter. In the store I thought I liked it, but later found the scent to be too strong and artificial to the point where I stopped using it. It worked okay, but left my skin feeling a little too greasy so I only used when doing some kind of outside work.

I can't comment on their overall product line.

I agree that the scent smells too much like food. It reminded me of those lemon creme cookies, which was a negative.

Thanks for your input. I'm so interested in the natural ingredients of these products, but the food-like scent of the hand cream has left me ambivalent. Smells like a lemon custard pie!

When I first encountered this manufacturer, it was the lotion. There was no tester bottle, so I wasn't able to smell or feel it. Well, if I decide to spring for it I'll let you know how it turns out.

I actually just picked up a bottle of Bath and Body Works lemon scented body lotion. I like the lemony smell of it and the feel a lot. Too bad the ingredients aren't all natural as the JR Watkins are. Otherwise, the BBW lotion is good stuff!
