More of a planned failure, I reckon. I wanted to get another RR Game Changer 0.76P to replace the one I let go in BST, and I didn’t feel as that would meet the spirit of the restock day rule.
Anyway I will still hang around until the end and try to do better in February.

Unless I've missed something, this is our first out, on the 26th! So close to a full success, but that's okay. And without other outs, I had to go back a fair bit in the thread to find this list.
Glad you were able to get the thing you wanted. Sometimes we don't know what we've loved until it's gone. Corny, but true, especially for shave gear!

Although I'm going to finish the month of January with you all, and while I'm still in the GRUYERE as well, I don't think I can join everyone in the February GRUME...
I designated a GRUYERE exception of a Captain's Choice bowl or scuttle, and seeing @WThomas0814 flaunt his gorgeous toys is almost too much for me to bear.
I think I can hold out on getting myself a Ti-bird, I have some excellent soaps in my rotation (including a SV) so I can wait on that, and I have a couple of fantastic brushes... but that Admiral bowl calls to me, and I am a weak man at times.

Still in, no shave day
Still in, no shave day
STILL IN!!!!!
So a shower, my preshave routine and then shave today went easier and quicker than usual. Less than 45 minutes. Go me (not a "come on me" that typically happens)
Today's shave was the best one of january GRUME 2025 so far and the best shave since coming back into my life, the past 2 years. 12/10 for this shave. Picture is how most of my gear comes with me into the bathroom.
My 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with a Rapira blade gave some extra passes today. I think with my energy or whatever, my body remembered and added extra passes like XTG on my neck and around my chin. It seemed odd at first but i let it happen. My shave seemed to need less passes than previous shaves which also made the shave quicker.
My chunk of Vitos is now a piece and got whipped into a good amount of and a slick lather by my Yaqi Mountain Lake(?) and Captain's Choice Copper Lather Bowl- Aquamarine and my didgets.
Omega Alumed my face and neck and Stiling Soap Co. Balmed these parts of me too. Completing my great shave today.

Back to the Wool Fat, which was getting dried out again. I had a quick but effective DFS.

An average shave in my view with great razors and a less than great blade. The combination was less satisfactory at least. Well there is always tomorrow’s shave as Butch Waxx used to say.

Really? I assumed that they are not linked, and that just because I had an exception in the GRUYERE didn't absolve me of my GRUME promises.
