Jacket recommendation

Ok Folks help me find my new fall jacket. \
Requirements : windproof and good to the low 50's
durable
no hood unless its detachable
no fleece as we own animals and don't need the clinging hairs
under $100 hopefully or more if you are sure I will get years of use out of it.
will be used for everyday wear as well as strolls thru the woods

I'm looking for something in between a nylon shell and a winter jacket

Haven't been shopping for one, but if I were to start I think I would first check Land's End. They seem to have a variety of jackets of that description (or at least used to).

Check out some soft-shell jackets from Mountain Hardwear or Marmot. I personally like Arcteryx...but way over your price range.

Check the ma-1 by alpha industries and maybe the field jacket by alpha as well. If you go with the field jacket make sure to get the liner with it.

+1. The trick with Alpha is to get on their emailing list, they have pretty frequent % sales.. Love my ma-1.
