Jack Black products?

Anyone use them. I got some of the different stuff, and I like it. The deodorant, beard lube, face moisturizer seem to be good products. Just wanted some varying opinions to see if it's worth the price, our if there is something better out there for cheaper.

The triple cushion shave is very good, granted proraso does an excellent job for less. Online it seems cheaper than AoS, but since they do not differentiate between fluid oz or oz by weight I can't tell. The oz says JB gives more but my memory of the containers does not. Do not have either in front of me. In all it's a pretty good line, but I have not tried their deodorant or beard lube. Pretty certain I tried the moisturizer, I guess it did not leave much of an impression (and I need more than spf 15). Nice lip balm.

OK. I've used a bunch of Jack Black products. I'm a pretty big fan of most of them. So far I have used the following:

Double Duty Moisturizer
Turbo Wash
Cool Moisture Body Lotion
Pit Boss antiperspirant
Face Buff scrub
Dry Down Friction Free powder
Protein Booster Eye Rescue
DIY Power Peel
Protein Booster Skin Serum
Pure Clean facial cleanser
Beard Lube
Triple Cushion shave cream

These are the full products that I have purchased. I have also used quite a few of their samples(I got 19 different samples with one order during a promotion).

I think they are all fine products, in particular I like the Turbo Wash, Dry Down powder, and Pit Boss. I also appreciate that most of their stuff is paraben and sulfate free. Good stuff IMO although I do prefer Kiehl's Facial Fuel for a daily cleanser and daily moisturizer in the same price range/category.

Tried the face wash and the scrub. They were fine. Were they any better than the Neutrogena stuff (or some other pharmacy staple) that you can get for half the price? Not really. Not for me, at least. If you have the money, not a horrible investment. I'd prefer to save the money, though.

I'm thinking of getting the Double Duty face moisturizer when my current face moisturizer runs out but I am really liking the Refresh face moisturizer from Trader Joe's (also with SPF) so much that I may just stick with that. It's also about one quarter the price of the Jack Black one.

I'm a big fan as well. I got a gift set a couple of Xmas's ago that had the daily face cleanser, beard lube, face buff and the double duty moisturizer. All of them are great. I've also used the triple cushion shave cream and the hand moisturizer.

Really have no complaints about anything I've used. Granted, JB's stuff is a bit on the pricey side and you can find similiar products that are cheaper. But if you compare it price wise to say TOBS or Art of Shaving it's not that bad. It's about on par for what you would pay for Lab series, Zirh or Kiehls.

I tried a sample of the moisturizer, and I liked it. But I also got a sample of Tcheon Fung Sing Bergamotto Neroli. For me, it was just as good at half the price. I love the scent, whereas Jack Black as a scent, was...meh. I did come very close to buying the JB,but didn't.

Never tried any of their shaving stuff, but I like their moisturizers and washes. I use the Oil Control lotion in the morning and the Line Smoother a few times a week at night. Seems a bit pricey, but both bottles tend to last quite a while.

I like their cologne line, but the longevity leaves a lot to be desired for the price. I currently have the Black Mark, and I liked the Silver Mark. I won't be replacing them because they're so short-lived.

Every time I see that name, I think of the genuinely unfunny comedian who goes along with it, so buying the cologne in the first place required some effort. It is also why I'll never own anything produced by a company with the moniker of Billy Jealousy.

I use their Energizing Facial Scrub. It's smells fantastic, citrus with a little menthol. It is mandatory in my shave prep in the shower, as my face is exfoliated and the hairs on my face stand up easier when lathered. You can easily get free samples at Nordstrom to try it out. If anyone can recommend a cheaper alternative that smells as good and is as effective in shave prepping let me know. In the meantime, $18 scrub that lasts for months is worth it to me.

I've tried many JB products and never found any of them to be that great. I've used the Pure Clean Face Wash, Beard Lube, True Volume Thickening Shampoo, Turbo Wash, and their hair pomade. None were anything special in my opinion. I've been using a few of Kyoku For Men products lately and find them much better overall. I placed an order on their website yesterday and because I spent more than $50 they gave me a free full-size bottle of Water Body Wash. I had purchased it before and it's great. It's cooling with a light citrus scent. It usually costs $23, so I thought that was a really nice throw-in. Another brand I recently tried for the first time was Recipe For Men, and again, good stuff. They sent the face wash and shave gel I ordered to me in a gift box that actually closed via magnets on the bottom of the box. It was a really nice touch and the whole thing just reeked of quality. You can tell they "get it" when it comes to presentation. I wouldn't waste my time or money on Jack Black when there are other, similarly priced lines out there that are, in my experience, better. Recipe For Men is higher priced than both JB and Kyoku, however. I don't know how much you want to spend. You can't go wrong with either brand I mentioned. Good luck.

Well, if you like it, I don't want to stop you from using it, but since you issued a challenge... I like the Every Man Jack scrub more. It's cheaper, it smells better (smells like mint ice cream), it's gentler, but still effective. That's my opinion, though.

Every Man Jack is, in my opinion, every bit as good as Jack Black, but for a third of the price.

Although I really like most EMJ products I have to disagree on their scrub. Good ingredients list and great price as usual, but there is almost zero scrub to it and it just feels like you're moving some moisturizer over your face. Worthless for my oily skin and tough beard.

Yeah, I can see that. I just used more pressure than I would with a more coarse scrub. I liked the density of it. A good ratio of scrubby beads to liquid whatever. The gentleness of it made me feel like I wasn't going to rip the heck out of my face. I don't have a very soft touch, so with coarse scrubs, I sometimes overdo it.

I actually use chemical exfoliants now, because they work better for my oily/acne prone skin.

Actually, I think the Zirh scrub was my favorite. Didn't like the smell, though.

I had stopped using scrubs and just using chemical exfoliants, but after a month or so the ingrown hairs came back with a vengeance. I had pretty good luck just using a scrub once a week so I think I'll go back to that routine. Just bought some Kyoku scrub, but haven't tried it yet as I figured I'd finish off the EMJ stuff.

I love Jack Black products. I would never buy them myself, due to the high price, but my daughter gives them to me as gifts. :001_smile

I use the Beard Lube as a preshave, and I like the shampoo and Rose Moisturizing lotion.
