Yeah, I know it's expensive. But I'm interested in owning a synthetic that allows for face lathering. This seems to be the only synthetic on the market with any sort of density to it but I'm really wondering how good it is with face-lathering because I don't use a bowl at all anymore. Hopefully I cvan get an opinion from someone who has used both it and badgers?
Jack Black Brush....can you face-lather with it?

I owned one for a long time, as far as synthetics go, its a great one for face lathering. I liked the box that came with it, handy as a stand as well as for travel.
I've never used a synthetic, so I'm curious - what about them makes them bad for face-lathering?

The one I've tried (an Omega) has very little stiffness when wet. But synthetic bristles make amazing lather and are softer than most silvertips. So if a dense synthetic with backbone exists, I'll be all over it.
I have been using a Jack Black Pure Performance brush for several months now and nearly always face lather, using shave soaps, not creams. Works great for me, I really like the brush. Nice and dense head, cleans and dries easily and yes, the box cum stand works well too. Expensive but recommendable, IMO.

If you are interested in a synthetic brush for face lathering that works extremely well and costs about $20, I use a Parker synthetic. I feel that is has good density and provides for a superior face lather...plus the bristles are extremely soft. Here is my review of it...
