My mother has a half dozen of these things kicking around the house as nick knack bowls, she gave me one to use as a soap bowl. My grandfather was a very practical man, I don't see him as the type to invest in luxury soaps, so I'm guessing these were quite a bit cheaper back in the day. Still I'm going to have to give it a shot eventually for nostalgia purposes. Anyone have any experience with Taylor of Old Bond Street? I'm leaning towards sandlewood as most lavender scents (my mother always loved the smell of lavender have struck me as a bit to overpowering and feminine).
