What's new

It's tough being a Raiders fan...

As a Redskins fan, I would like to see Jason Campbell succeed. Our idiot owner and GM treated the guy like @#$%. Unfortunately for him, he wound up with an even worse owner.

The Darth Vader Redskins of yours beat The Team Favored by God and me, the Cowboys, last night though. So, temporarily, I'm not feeling too much sadness for you guys.

Good game by the Redskins, by the way! You have to feel a little better.

I'm glad we won, but I wouldn't call it a good game. In the end, we sucked less than the Cowboys, so that's why we won. We made less mistakes. The Cowboys beat themselves, more than anything. Still, it's a win against the arch rival, a division win and a good start for the new regime. I'm excited for the possibility of a winning season!

I think the NFC East will finish like this:

1. Giants - Not that many expectations. They're the under the radar team in the division. Coughlin is coaching for his life. The team is pretty good.

2. Cowboys - Too many expectations. Too much pressure. Romo stinks in crunch time. Their "three headed monster" rushing attack isn't that ferocious.

2. Redskins - Expectations are too high. Everyone is new and old at the same time. The O-line isn't great. Haynesworth is a distraction. The receivers other than Moss are nonentities. Still, McNabb gives us a better chance to win than Jason Campbell. At least in the short term.

4. Eagles - I don't get why everyone thinks Kolb will be great. Why? Because he had a few good games when McNabb was out? So did Koy Detmer and AJ Feeley. Where are they now? I just don't see it.

SalvadorMontenegro, I have no problem with your predictions. But, how does God watch his team now that the Cowboys new stadium doesn't have that hole in the roof. That is the question! :)

Why would God care about whether or not the Cowboys stadium has a hole in the roof when he's watching his team at lovely, outdoor Fed Ex field?

In all seriousness, I can't get that into rivalries. I just want the Redskins to win. I don't care if the beat the Cowboys or the Jets. Actually, I probably dislike the Jets more than the Cowboys... The only team I openly root against is the Patriots.

I was a temporary Cowboys fan, back when the trifecta of Emmitt, Troy and Michael were there. That was a fun team to watch.

You are a reasonable person. But, not a typical Redskins (or Cowboys) fan! Donovan said when he went to the Redskins, they told him whatever he did, "just beat the Cowboys." Andy Reid said he was told the same thing when he went to Philly.

I talk up the rivalry, and enjoy the banter. But, since I moved here 20 years ago, it doesn't really go bone deep. But, raised in Missouri, having grown up on Harry Caray and Jack Buck and the Cardinals, I don't lose much sleep when the true team from darkness, the Cubs, lose a game! :)

Oh yes, if you want long suffering fans, think of the Cubs. Here are some interesting facts:

1. The Cubs last won a World Series in 1908. That's now 102 seasons without a championship. No one alive today has seen the Cubs win a World Series.

2. The Cubs last won the National League Championship in 1945. There were eight teams in the league, with names like the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, and the Boston Braves. Think of it this way, a person born in 1945 has worked all their life, and is now collecting retirement benefits without having the Cubs get to another World Series.
