Hello everyone, wanted to hello as this is my first time here seems like such a great board and I love the PIF. I am just starting out in thrift store, yard sale hunting for things. I am an avid internet user and have tried for hours to research a razor I found 2 days ago but I havent had much luck other than finding an ebay sale that sold what looks to be the same exact one yesterday. here is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...yDoUqf%2FYJ5h9j8MZoYY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I do not use ebay so this isnt a promotion It was just about the first thing that popped up when I did a google search for the razor. The description in the sale was vauge as to the year model other than it was a vintage Barbasol razor. It looked exacly like mine except mine has a little more wear and tear on it. The auction had 25 bids and the razor sold for 152.00, and was sold on the 2nd. My eyebrows kinda raised at that so now I got a itch to find out more. Ecepecially since for $2.50 I got a 1979 Gillette Black Beauty with a case (lining is missing, 3 partail boxes of blades and the mystery Barbasol razor. First I dont hardly ever write in forums so forgive my inexperiance if you will. Im not sure if Im supposed to post this in this forum so any guidence please. No offence intended. I would like to ask anyone kind enough if they know anything about this razor, year model. I remember my grandfather using one like it thats why I bought it in the first place. What I know about it the guy said he bought a lot of things from an auction in 1982 that came from a museum in Wallace Idaho. I have found so much info but seems like Im running in circles on it. I have found no marks of any kind on it other than the Barasol name around the handle unless Im not looking in the right place. I am a 50 yo girl so I dont plan on using it. I do intend to sell it eventually when I find out the right way to go about it. Thank you for your help and I have a feeling Ill never look at a razor the same way again lol. I will attach pictures of the razors for you to see
