Is vegan/vegetable soap actually soap?

Glycerin can be made from animal or plant sources. Better to e-mail the company what they used.
This is true. What I object to is the use of the term glycerin soap. There is no such thing. Glycerin is a byproduct of the soap-making reaction. It cannot be saponified.

What most people refer to as glycerin soap is more properly termed melt-and-pour soap. Most of these bases actually have a fair bit of detergents or other non-soap chemicals in them and are, therefore, chemically not really soap at all, but that's a discussion for another thread.
