What's new

Is this the Gillette Executive?

I picked this up in a little antique shop in a very small town in Florida over the weekend. I asked the clerk how much she wanted for it and the price was 20 bucks so I gave a concerned look and said really and put it back down, she then said will you give me 10 for it and I gladly handed the 10 bucks over and took it home. It seems to be in very good condition with little to no plate loss, and it shaves like a dream.

great get!

[obligatory whine:] I never find stuff like that at antique stores....

Yes, an Executive. Join me in my quest for the rest of the kit....

Jackpot! That's the only Rhodium-plated US Gillette razor and very hard to find - trust me! As stated, now you need to find the equally hard to find case. I just found my razor after having a nice case for months. See here for the case.

You have done well, my friend. Very well!

Looks like others have already identified this one for you and I'd have been no help to you on that point anyways. But, I must say, excellent negotiation skills!!! It's not something that everybody can do well. It is a fine art and you seem to be quite adept. Nice work and a great looking razor.

Wow, and I thought the $5 1934 Aristocrat I got today was cool! Well done, that is a beautiful razor!

How do you know the Aristocrat is a 1934? By the blade dates? The 30's Aristocrats were not date coded therefore cannot be identified to exact year without original date coded blade pack.

Now that is one beauty! Its a good thing for my bank account that I do not see these at ebay ......:tongue_sm

Congratulations!
