Is this razor worth restoring?

Got this razor for a song a few months ago and dug it up today. At some point I will take the plunge into straights....so I'm wondering if this would be a razor fit to get professionally refurbished....or if I should just look for something shave ready when its time.

any advice would be welcome.

(I should not that the discoloration is not rust, but some kind of congealed gunk.....not sure what to use on it, haven't cleaned up a straight before.)

It looks pretty good already; get it honed and get your shave on! For a restore, it looks like a solid candidate.

Absolutely! Fredrick Reynolds is a great razor. It is in pretty good shape as is. Just some cleanup and a honing, and your good to go.

Agreed: light polish, hone, shave!

I have the same razor, but my scales were cracked and had to be replaced. One of my favorites!
