Is this possible

My ti was honed by a very respectable honemeister afterall we all want the best shave possible and it did shave good for a while until a honing was needed, and now that i've honed it i find im having much better shaves from it.

I can only assume he had an off day or im very lucky and honed this razor very good.

Anyone come across this before?

It is possible that you've done better than the very respectable honeheister. I think the more likely explanation is that, in addition to having refreshed the edge to better than it was before you honed it, your technique has improved. Both factors contribute to a better shave.

It is very common for people to think the honing on their second razor is much better than their first razor (or that their second razor is just a better razor in general) for this very reason.

I see where you're coming from, my technique with a fresh edge now is much better than my first time shaving with it hmm.

I am getting better with honing, nowhere near a honemeister what with so many razors out there to try.

My shaving is getting better all the time, today i didn't have the closest but i managed dfs in three passes with not a hint of a nick or irritation.
