Looks to me like the plating is gone from the center of the guard bar. Also, are those nicks or gouges in the handle knurl?
It looks like some plating loss, but you would be suprised what a good cleanup will do for it
Because of the quality of photo, if i were to bid on it i would bid on it thinking and expecting a load of plate loss, if you receive it and its better than that you will be even happier
That picture looks better than the one listed in the other thread for some reason. It now appears to be gold and I can see than the lower band look to be smooth. That would make it a 48-50 Aristocrat. It is likely that the plating isn't in great shape, but if you can get it cheap enough you'll find that they are great shavers.
+1 on value if it's not ridiculously priced. The handle plating looks very much like a Diplomat that I got in a lot sale a while back. Didn't clean up all that well but makes a great shaver! Good luck.
It looks better because it's a different razor. The other was missing an endcap. So unless it's a picture of the same razor flipped over, that would explain the difference.

Often on gold razors it not the plating at all but the clear coat which has turned brown.
Once removed it revels a nice razor underneath.
