Picked this up a while back for a couple of bucks and am not sure if it really needs a new knot or not. What do ya'll think?

I had one of those once. The knot was in good shape, but it was only 18mm and not very dense. I didn't find it useable. YMMV.
If it can lather fine, then no. But if you'd like the feel of a different knot in it.....
