Is this bengall cast straight worth saving?

Just picked this up. Looks to be in decent shape. I know nothing about it other than what's stamped on it.

Any idea on age? The scales seem to be semi translucent, but appear to be horn?

That is definitely worth cleaning up as a do it yourself job.
