Is this a defect?

It looks fairly level with the top of the handle to me. However the entire brush is crooked in your photo there. if it's off, it's not off by much. You're the one who needs to be satisfied with it though.

Hard to say given the angle of the image.

It does not look crooked to me though...I would just use it.

If that bugs you, don't ever buy a Simpson. Their brushes are awesome but they are also mostly incapable of putting their stickers on straight! (Hasn't kept me from continuing to buy them though!)

Looks straight to me, best I can tell. Even if it's slightly off kilter, I'd call it "character," and use it. It's a handmade brush, and I don't expect these sorts of things to be perfect. It's part of what makes it your brush. If the knot were asymmetrical or something like that, I'd be put off, but the logo is a minor issue to me. I wouldn't go through the hassle of a return/exchange.

If it bothers you, though, talk to T&H.

Here's the picture straightened:

I measured it, and it's something like .75mm off from the first T to the last L. Am I just being an idiot?

Less than 1mm difference is quite small but i see it in the straightened picture. It would surely not bother me at all but if it does bother you then good luck replacing it with one that has it perfect. I think you got lucky to have it that straight in first place.

These are handmade brushes and no one sits there with a straight edge to see if it's 100% correct i think. You already got lucky with it i think. Up to you to push your luck further.

.75mm? Did you need a micrometer for that?

Call it unique, then.

I doubt you'd get it replaced based on that, it's hardly a fault.

Man you are making me feel good about my OCD.....I would say this though if it bugs you now it will bug you later so do what you must. :thumbup1:

Perhaps a bit picky. I doubt a replacement is warranted for a slightly tilted logo. However, I can appreciate that you spend hard earned money and want the best possible brush you can get.

Simpsons stickers aren't meant to be permanent.

As for the Truefitt & Hill brush; no it wouldn't bother me. Are you happy with the brush overeall? Knot, handle etc? If you are I'd be worried about returning it and having it replaced with a shedder or soemthing.

Vlad - Sometimes its the little imperfections that make a brush perfect. Unique and one of a kind. It makes it specifically yours .

However, if it bugs you enough and you won't be able to enjoy the brush, get a replacement. No biggie. I've done it myself.

Is that the 1/2 you've been considering? It looks fine to me. A little off, but I personally would not bother with the return/exchange process.

It'd be great to read a review/see some more pics! :001_smile
