I put it on par with Mitchell's (which I bow to) or Mikes, except it allow me even greater control over the density or richness of lather. If its a tad dense and dry a fast whisk of the brush under the shower head cures all. Love the smell too.

i vote yea.

Much easier to lather and much better lather than anything else I've tried. (Mwf, cella, mikes, vdh, Williams, speick stick). I'll be trying speick milled into a puck and MdC soon, and I'm going to give mikes a few more tries. Mwf gave as good a lather but was not as easy. Vdh and cella were easy to lather, but not as smooth a shave. Only some of the mikes smell as good (don't have the MdC yet).

Definitely one to have by every serious wet shaver. Knew about the aftershave and the product range since my youth. Will always respect it as the definitive winter/cool weather shaving soap.

The scent is take it or leave it, but I think that if Tabac were to go away or be reformulated, everyone would agree that we would've lost a tentpole classic. The mourning would be epic. Even by the people who don't think it's that special.

So yes, I think it's easy to say that it's one of the greats.

No, it is pretty easy to use and certainly not bad but it is what it is; a drugstore soap that tries to be much more than it is.

Good but not a top-notch product.

For a while Tabac was my only soap, and I have half a bowl, an unopened bowl and a partially used stick of Tabac on hand. I love the scent and while it's a great soap, it has seen no use this year as DRH and SRD soaps are getting the most use. It is definitely a colder weather scent for me, so it will be a few months until I get back to it.

It's ok, but I don't think it is a "great" product...MWF, Cella, Proraso, and perhaps Klar, now those are great. Tabac is more what I would call a "classic"...almost iconic. Arko also falls into this category.

While not my only or even favorite soap, Tabac is way up in my rotation and go to soaps. In fact, I consider it to be a standard to measure others soaps by. The scent is a little off-putting to some but I like it. The soap is very easy to lather and produces thick & slick lather.
