Is Proraso Pre/Post supposed to be this cold

I got my order from WCS (always A+ dealings with them, BTW), and one of the items was Proraso Pre/Post shaving cream in the green jar. I have heard so many great things about it I had to try it. I put some on this morning and immediately felt the cooling effects. I wet my face, rubbed it into my beard, and let it do it's magic while I whipped up my lather. While this was going on, it continued to get cooler. I made my 3 passes (WTG, 2 XTG) and it was ice cold the entire time. I finished my shave about a half hour ago and, while mostly gone, I can still feel some cooling effects on my face. Is this normal? I have read a lot about it on the boards but I haven't read about anybody having it last this long or it being this intense.

Also, I didn't wash it off before I lathered up my face. I just lathered over it. Is this the right way? I know it's another YMMV type thing but I don't know if I should wash it off before I put my lather on.

My order from WCS also included my first puck of Tabac and a tube of Proraso shaving cream. I haven't tried the Proraso shaving cream yet but I used the Tabac for the first time this morning. This stuff is simply amazing. I had lather going all over my counter. I will have to experiment with this stuff to dial it back so I don't waste so much.

It's mentholated, so it's going to be cold. Some people are more sensitive to the cooling effect than others. A lot of guys would be really glad to have an icy face a half hour after their shave.

If the Pre/Post cream is too much menthol chill for you, then you probably shouldn't combine it with the shaving cream as the Proraso cream has a good dose of menthol too.

If it's painful, or causes visible irritation, stop using it right away.

But yes, it probably last 10 minutes after the shave for me. Love it in the summer!

Thanks for the advice. It doesn't hurt, just SURPRISINGLY cooling. I'll really appreciate it on a hot day. I can't say for sure if it's working like others say or not. I got a better shave this morning, but it may be due to the Tabac. I'll try it without the Proraso soon and see if I can tell a difference.
