Is Plissoft Plissoft?

I'm going to try my hand at restoring a brush. The handle should be here in a few days. After I determine what size knot I need I'll get one ordered but I have a question. I plissoft plissoft? Is it a type of material, a brand name, manufacturing process or something else?

Interesting, from my research (google search) you can buy brushes and knots from all over the place that say they are Plissoft. There's never any trade mark symbol or credit to the origination, that's why the question. I'll shoot a question to RazoRock and see.
