Is my chrome coating bad?

Gents, good afternoon

Ive noticed some chrome coating on my Merkur 34C has worn away - see photos



Ive had the razor a couple of months and used it approx 10-15 times, always cleaning it properly with a toothbrush and occasional soak in Barbicide.

Im thinking this can only get worse and is a manufacturing defect that I should bring to the retailers attention for (ideally) a replacement.

Can anyone comment on this situ; am I right that this wear shouldn't have happened and is a manufacturing defect?

Looks like weak plating in spots. Where did you buy the razor? There are a few vendors that even after months will help you out with an exchange.

I ain't no expert but I heard is a pain in the...cabbage...to plate zamak with chrome.

I wish my 34C is from a good batch, I have it for a bit more than a year now and the plating is still intact.
