What's new

Is it worth restoring?

1931 Goodwill.

As you can see there are some scratches and 2 cracks on the handle. Is it worth polishing? What about replating? Is it brass? Can the scratches and cracks be filled for plating?

Ask Krona Kruiser. He might be able to help. I had an Old Type cap and plate which looked worse but he worked a miracle on it.

It looks like a goodwill to me

That is one fantastic head....... The combs look to be perfect (no bends)

Does it say made in Canada or USA on the base plate?

My suggestion would be to get the head replated and mate it up to a heavy handle like a Weber or a ATT Titan or Atlas handle.

I have a BRW custom goodwill very similar to that head and another (older) goodwill with the diamond cut through the cap that is now being replated for me.

It is USA made. Its a 1931 with the 175 guard and 160 cap.

I never thought about getting a different handle for it. I may do that but would also like to have an original handle too. I have an affinity for old things so I just wouldn't be "complete" without all original parts.

Can replating fix the scratches? What about the cracks in the stock handle?
