What's new

Is it unrealistic for me to post a WTB for a butterscotch ?

I posted a WTB for an older butterscotch so my son and I can do a restore together. He saw one I was working on and lusted for it.

Is it realistic to expect a member to be willing to sell one or would I be better served to look on the Bay ?

I trust y'all a lot more.

thanks

I don't see any reason why it would be. I got a semogue LE 09 on a WTB when not one has ever sold on BST, so it is definitely realistic.

In fact, if I wasn't giving my brother a nice butterscotch restore for xmas I would have shot you a PM, though I take it you want to so the restore yourself.

They pop up all the time on eBay and if you don't want to shell out a lot of money for one look for a "Klenzo" or "Buffalo" brand vintage catalin butterscotch. Should be able to get one under $20.

If you just want to assemble your own butterscotch The Golden Nib sells new handles, and knots to fit. I have bought knots from them, but not handles. I like restoring myself and e-bay always has several butterscotch to pick from.

Butterscotches in good condition start at about $20 (Decent condition Klenzo/EverReady/etc) and go to $100+ (for simpson/rooney/other big name brands with good knots). eBay is a good source for them, but a WTB couldn't hurt.
