What's new

Is it too cold for Alt-Innsbruck?

Thinking of picking this up, but not sure if it's the wrong time of year, but then again I do live in southern California:001_cool:

So who uses this in the winter?

The effect of most mentholated aftershaves wears off in 5-10 minutes. So unless you plan on going out into the cold before that time is up, I wouldn't worry about using it in the winter at all.

Alt-Innsbruck isn't exactly super mentholated anyway.

You're kidding. My bottle of Alt-Innsbruck is very mentholated. You may want to check the reviews and "refresh" that thought.

But now is a great time for this Eau de cologne/aftershave, very Austrian! One of my all-time faves.

I have used Alt-Innsbruck. It's menthol kick is far less than Skin Bracer, Aqua Velva, Barbasol Brisk, and Barbasol Pacific Rush.

I didn't say it was un-mentholated; it's just not a menthol bomb as some other aftershaves are.

That's my opinion, and I am sticking too it.:lol:

I find that I don't notice much of the menthol for the first 5-10 minutes, but after that, I get a nice, chilling effect that lasts for a good half-hour or so.

I think you'll enjoy it. The initial chill of AI won't be a problem in SoCal, and the lasting sweet floral tobacco fragrance is good for all seasons.

I agree completely. I don't know why but stuff like AV, Sink Bracer and all that hit me way harder with the menthol kick than Alt or the Floids.

It is odd because in the bottle, Alt smells only of menthol. I expected it to numb me out like AV does. Not so. Love it.

Unless you are planning on moving house, because I don't think that there is actually a winter in SoCal?! :biggrin1: I use and love Alt Innsbruck all year round.

It is never to cold for Alt Innsbruck (or any other mentholated aftershave). I have used Osage Rub in negative temperatures and it was great!

The first time I used Alt Innsbruck it literally took my breath away.I had no idea how intense the menthol was going to be.First off when you try to pour a little in your hand it fills your hand full and when I splashed the hand full one my face I was a little shocked to say the least.
