Is an R41 your daily driver?

Not my daily shaver. I love my vintage gillettes too much. I do use it when I am in a hurry and can't do 3 passes. I get dfs with just 2 passes with the 2013 R41 head.

If you feel like trying out a R41, You can get a new cap and base plate for $18 plus $5 shipping here:

The Spitfire "2011" is the razor I use most of the time. It's as easy on my skin as any of the easiest razors are, and shaves closer than any--so it helps me with my morbid razor burn problem in that whiskers don't get long enough on regrowth to become irritating as quickly. The Spitfire cap can give the 2011 experience when used with the 2013 base plate (which can be purchased with the link above), or can be used with the 2011 base plate. It is perhaps a shade more aggressive than the stock 2011 R41.

I used it almost daily for a year. It's a great razor with the right technique and shaves quickly.. Couple passes is enough for dfs or bbs.

Daily? No. DE is a willful expenditure of time to get a better shave and a better experience. The R41 definitely adds to the experience, but the extra time for the careful handling is not something I can part with every day.

I shave daily with R41, and have done for almost 2 years. Great razor, beautifully made, great results. I sold my other two razors and have never regretted it.

A 2013 R41 is my daily driver. I shave 6 days/week. I occasionally alternate with a Fatip Piccolo and Ikon Shavecraft Tech but the R41 is used 90% of the time. I don't have any irritation or burn. Easiest razor for me to get a DFS with the fewest passes. ( 2 plus touchups )
