Irisch Moos Question - Need Help

Could use a little help here fellow B&B buddies. I have a friend who will be in Germany in October. She has gladly said she'll pick me up some Irisch Moos products. Here is my question. The last time I had a bottle of this aftershave - it was the 100ml "SIR" Irisch Moss (not Moos) that 4711 was distributing (mine cost 5.50!). And "SIR" was the emphasized part of the name on the label. (the top picture is the 50ml bottle and a generic pic, not my old bottle, but same in every way except volume)

Is this the same juice that is currently marketed as "Irisch Moos?" Has anybody had the benefit of having both bottles and comparing them? I believe Irisch Moos is German for "Irish Moss", same basic name, but is it the same stuff? This was my favorite aftershave then and now - just wanting to have it back in my life. When I was in Germany I never saw the first one you pictured. I only saw the second one. The second one is a great after shave. Have your friend get you some.

Mret - thanks for the vote. I'm definitely going to have her get me some regardless! Just dying to know if it's the same stuff. The "SIR" Irisch Moss has been out of circulation for probably 15 plus years. Occasionally I see it on Ebay for about 70$. Thanks for the reassurance on the AS. So - anyone tried BOTH?

Thank you gentlemen. Appreciate your feedback. I am, for sure, getting some, but was truly VERY curious about this. I imagined the glorious moment after all these years of cracking the cap and saying - "What the hell is this stuff? This isn't my Irisch Moos!" Looks like that won't be the case at all.

Btw, Nid Hog - I'm in Detroit and am in Chicago 3-4 times a year - I will definitely be paying the Merz Apoth. on Lincoln a visit!

Carl, the two smell exactly alike to me. If there was a reformulation between the Irish Moss/Irish Moos transition, it was so slight that it doesn't register to my nose.

@Rob! Thank you so much. That's music to my ears. I emptied my bottle about ten years ago (late 90s anyway) and had bought it probably around 1991 or 92' and knowing I couldn't find it anywhere and got looks from floor salesman that suggested I should be resting at "happy acres" because they had never heard of it and thought I was nuts - I used it sparingly. I'll have her buy me the 150ml which should be at nearly any drug store. You terminated my suspense - thank you!

@Nid Hog - I mapquested it - I usually stay with my pal in Lincoln Park (Lincoln and Fullerton) looks like about a 10-15 minute jog straight down Lincoln to get to it. I'll just have the cab drop me at the front door and get down to some buyin'!
