I personally like the look of the Ihome radios. The ones that I have heard have great sound for a clock radio. If money is not an object, I would go with a Bose Wave Radio II with connect kit for iPod. Great sound with a price tag.

This won't help much to tell you the quality of the product, but I purchased the Sony for my wife for Christmas. There were much better products available, but after reading a lot of reviews and considering the cost, I chose the Sony.
How about Cambridge Soundworks? They have a great sound and they're much less expensive than BOSE. Here's an example of one of their products:

I have an older Cambridge Soundworks unit. It doesn't have an iPod dock, just a plug in for it. For the size of the unit, the sound quality is great.
I don't know if Tivoli audio makes a unit with an iPod dock, but I'd check those out, too.

Yes, they do ... very pricey, but the Tivoli system is top-notch for audio quality.

The Tivoli products are amazing. I have experience with the PAL and it sounds awesome.
I also recommend the Boston Acoustics radios.
The Solo and Duo are very rich sounding as well.
I'd put them slightly above the Tivoli actually.

The Geneva S is beautiful and excellent.
I had one in a hotel room in Switzerland and liked it a lot.
It might be a bit expensive though.

Reviving an older thread, I'm starting to look at getting one of those docking station (so I will probably buy one next year...

Luc are you just looking for docking speakers, or do you want a clock as well? Where do you plan on using the speakers? only in your house or do you want them to be portable as well?

I will probably end-up with a small alarm/clock type of docking station. To start with... They have cheapo deals down the street...

This is what I have and it is great Altec Lansing iMT620 inMotion Classic Portable iPod Dock with Rechargeable Battery and FM Tuner. It isn't a clock radio, but you could use the alarm on the iPod as the clock. The radio is only FM. The rechargeable battery last for about 5 hours and the unit good sound and a remote.
