Good evening everyone,
The mods and stewards have done me the great honor of appointing me as the new Mess Hall steward. I'll do my best to keep this one of the best sub-fora here on B&B.
Quick hits about me: I'm 25(ish), from SW Louisiana originally but have lived in Queens NYC for most of the past 7 years, have a masters in PoliSci, and found B&B a few days after I turned 21. Hobbies include cooking (obviously), tech (love me some android), hockey/football (Saints/Detroit Red Wings), and shooting sports.
I first interested in cooking as a teenager; parents took off for a weekend and told me to feed myself. As nice as it was eating Kraft Mac and Cheese for a week straight, I started to get tired of it and started playing around with food. I don't really have a speciality...I tend to learn how to cook a few dishes from different cultures and move on to something new.
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a world-class chef; many of you guys here seem like you missed your true calling as chefs at four-star restaurants. I do however have a passion for learning everything I can about different types of cooking. I'd like to put some tutorials together for newer cooks (knife skills, cooking techniques, etc) and of course help our more expended cooks share their incredible wealth of knowledge. If you want to help, let me know.
If you have any ideas, questions, comments, concerns, compliments, recommendations, recipes, or rabid, raving rants just shoot me a PM or email anytime. I'm truly proud to be able to help the mess hall anyway I can!
