Interesting Turkish Barber (Video)

the fact that he is smoking while he is shaving very old school feel.

Did he just load his brush with a shave stick? I didn't know you could do that. any guesses what kind? Arko?

My god I would be terrified. That really is so fast I really would not be comfortable. Although he seems to give a very nice shave.

The barber spent more time treating the nicks than he did performing the shave. How about those dry passes with the shavette? I'm surprised that guy didn't bleed out! Obviously that barber has a ton of experience and I'm guessing that 2 pass wtg/xtg shave is closer than most of us get on our daily shaves. Thanks for sharing.

My hairdresser a really relaxed guy doesn't give straight shaves but I'm sure he could do it. He does use a shavette to shave away those neck hairs and sideburns. He does not use lather for this but never gave me a nick. I'm going there for about 8 years now. One time I went to another hairdresser since mine was on holliday. Man oh man he took the shavette to clean my neck. (no lather) and then I felt a slice. Out came the alum block (wich I also used) and got this massive sting. I truly have no idea how he managed to give me such a huge cut. I still have a square scar for this. Never went back and never will.

I can't count the shaves & haircuts I had in Japan but I do know I never felt discomfort or the need for remedy afterwards. They weren't lightning fast but perfect.

The brush seems to be No:1 horsehair brush - the same that Bestshave is selling. Huge!

An interesting video, in many ways.

I saw this video a while ago and thought the soap looked strange because its a big bulb shape not a normal shave stick cylinder shape.
i also load my brush on shave sticks. I fistbowl and rub the brush around on the soap not the soap into the brush but it's the same idea.
