In my case, most artisan soaps irritate my skin due to the fragrance, even though they are packed full of skin goodies.

The industrial detergent scent used in arko is likely the culprit of inflaming and drying out my skin.

It's especially evident when I get growth coming through in the evening and my skin gets very itchy.

Makes sense given the base soap ingredients are not dissimilar from those in your rotation such as MWF, D.R. Harris, Speik, LEA, etc. That leaves the scent and preservative components as possible culprits.

It's always scent for me as commercial milled soaps contain certain chemical additives like chelators, antioxidants etc.

Artisan soaps that are supposed to be "cleaner" are the ones that mostly cause issues for me.
