injector handles

To the best of knowledge nobody makes an Injector handle anyone. The last ones were the short lived Nationwide Campus Injector razors from a couple years ago and before that the last production Schick was the Type O sold only in Japan until 2001.

Not any more. The last of the herd died out in the late '80s or early '90s and were garbage ("American Campus" Brand). Vintage is your only choice for injector handles. (Made by Pal or Schick (schick being the original and easier to find.)) The blades are still made, however, but are becoming scarce, at least at your local drug store.

I was thinking more of an after market handle for a vintage head. Like the ones made for Gillette's. Sorry I should not have been as vague :blushing:

The heads on injectors aren't removeable in the sense that you can easily install a new handle onto it. There are no threaded parts like there are on Gillette razors.

Neither are the mach 3 style razors but after market are made for them. And what would be cool is to have a newer style handle to put an old head on to.

Injectors aren't cartridge razors, either. AFAIK, none of them really had any removable parts. Handles were pinned or molded to the head assemblies, and in some cases, the head and handle were all one piece. The only thing that's really removable is the blade itself.

I have seen type g ande e heads with out a handle. They resemble a m3 head without a handle. I know not all injectors are like those. The E and G have seperate heads from their plastic or Bakelite handles. While they may not be removed easily they can still be removed.

Ah. No, no such thing as handle upgrades, etc. Injectors don't come apart in that way.

However, a few "fancy" models were made but these are relatively rare and fetch a higher-than-normal price. The L2 came shaped like a race car gear shift, and the L3 came shaped like a tennis racket grip. There may or may not have been other "novelty" handles in the L3 run. (as an aside, the L1 is a regular black handle and the L4 is a "twinjector"--- takes twin blade injectors which are no longer made).

Rudy Vey made one recently for a G-type for a friend on another board.

IIRC, he used a dremel to remove the current handle before sending it to Rudy.

It may not be common, but it can be done.
