Injector blade durability?

I realize there is some variation according to beard type and number of passes. I have a Schick G and some Personna Tungstun 74's. I am on shave #10 and while there is just a hint of tug these are some of the best shaves I have ever experienced...no weepers. So, single edge more usage but stouter/thicker material...how does that play into durability?

You are dealing with two separate phenomena here. Yes, injector blades, due to thickness, are more durable than comparable DE blades. You are also dealing with the mighty Personna 74, which is a phenomenon in its own right. I got 25 shaves out of a Personna 74 DE blade, and stopped more out of boredom than anything else. The 74's tungsten technology was a serious breakthrough, and they were probably the best blades ever manufactured (although not economically viable). I would not be surprised to hear you got 60 shaves out of your 74 injector blade...

I use Schick injector blades in my injector shaver and I can get just over 1 month with that blade. Sorry I cannot speak to the Personna Tungstun 74's, but I agree with tadas, they injector blades seem to be thicker and perhaps that is why we get more out of them, IMO.

I have a beard and use a Schick injector type E with Personna 74 blades to shave my cheeks and neck area. The first five or so shaves require extra care because the blades are very sharp. You can easily get weepers if you are not careful. When the blades "shave in" they are very durable and long lasting. I have used a blade for a month with ease. Great combination for me. I have a GEM 1912 that I use with stainless steel PTFE coated blades that shaves very well and has very good longevity. I consistently get 2 weeks of shaves with that combination. Typically I get a weeks worth of shaves from a DE blade. Like I said I have a beard so I consider each shave to be a half shave.
