What's new

Inherited some family products

As I had mentioned in another thread, I am in NY this week for work. I visited my cousin yesterday prior to my trip to Pasteur's and she had a shaving kit that she purchased for my uncle probably about 25 years ago at Barney's in London.

It was heavily tarnished (sadly I forgot to snap some before shots), but we polished everything. It is a GFT kit with a Trac II handle, soap bowl and brush. The handle had said Geo. F. Trumper on the front and Pure Badger Sterilized on the rear. During the polishing process, all of the lettering was wiped off. In any case, it had never been used. I used the brush and the soap last night. The soap was still really great and lathered well for being so old. Also the brush feels great. Nice tips, good backbone and it really has a decent weight to it.

I also picked up a replacement puck of Trumper at Pasteur's yesterday. My father shaved with an electric for as long as I can remember, so this is my first piece of family shaving history. It was unexpected and I am pretty excited.

Very sharp looking. Unfortunate about the markings. Amazing that it remained unused for so long. Appears to be in appreciative hands now. These things need to be used.
