Informations required about Schick Krona

Hello gents,

I got a NOS Schick Krona here and I was wondering how old it is ? On our wiki it is said that the Kronas were produced from 1959 to 1965 ? However, there is a dispenser of Schick Plus Platinum inside that package. I could be wrong but ain't the Plus Platinum appeared late in the 60's ? Also it is branded as Schick Dougle Edge razor and not as a Krona.

To open or not to open, that is the question.

Have you used one before?

If you have used them before and you bought this one as a NOS to use, then open it.

If you haven't used one before you may want to grab a uesr grade for a few $$$ and see if you like it. If you don't like it you can sell the unopened one. If you do like it, you can then decide if you want to open it and have a keeper.

I like the Yellow Packaging :D I tried to scan the barcode with my Iphone : / It didn't worked lolll DOHHH

The wiki is probably wrong. That package has a bar code, which places it mid-1970s or later.

The 3 patent behind the packaging are for the blades, they were issued in 1968, so you can forget the 1959 to 1965 from the wiki right there.

Open it on a special occasion. That Krona shaves as well or better than any Gillette in my den, and its got a plastic handle!

The diagram on the back shows a metal TTO knob yet the one in the pkg isnt. I Think I read that the metal/plastic TTO knob indicates different mfr yrs, or something like that. I wonder if they were treated as one in the same from Schick without regard to the metal/plastic knob?

X2 on Turtle's advice.

It's probably from the 80's. Schick contained to sell this razor and the injector up until the early 2000's. They changed the packaging in the early 90's...

I agree. Also Warner-Lambert is shown on package and they purchased Schick in the late 1970's. Just bought a Krona and waiting for it to arrive:biggrin1:
