Info needed on this strop

This piece of leather was on the backside of a lakeside strop. I know it was originally sueded as parts still have that suede feel but super thin suede which is why I say sueded. I can't make out the writing on it. I was curious if this strop is boar leather because the back side has all the dimples for the hair. Very pronounced like what I see on boar strops on the bay. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say yes, it's pig skin. Looks funny thought. Maybe just the condition. My first thought was Ostrich. But they don't make Ostrich strops that I know of. Can you feel the bumps? Since it says hone on it, I wonder if it's treated with something. I'm interested to see what the more knowledgeable have to say.

The back side looks like the boar strops. The front side had a suede finish and through use it's been polished flat in areas. The reason it looks weird is the leather is not perfectly flat. So some parts still have the sueded texture while others the texture has been polished flat and kind of glossy.

Yes its Boar.
Some Boar strops used the flesh side out and others the hide side out.
Boar are very effective strops and work more quickly IMO than Shell or Cow.
