What's new

Incoming!

My wife was happy to buy me some shave stuff for Christmas, but also clever enough to know that it would be best to ask me exactly what I wanted :thumbup1: I pushed the button yesterday and ordered a Simpson's Tulip2 in 2-Band and also a Classic2 in Best. Really looking forward to these two arriving- and I am just wondering how I will wait until the 25th?!

What is on your wishlist?

Man, you are gonna love that Classic 2 in Best. I just received mine this week and this brush is incredible. Density of the Eagle, with what appears to be a shorter loft. The handle is similar to the Duke style. Ergomically comfortable, small but not too small (won't fit into a travel tube).

In light of this hybrid between the Duke and the Eagle, I have renamed this brush the "Dugle".

Thanks Bob, I'm sure that I will as well. Although we have discussed this one before, your comments about "Dugle" and your Cade puck the other morning put me over the edge. Thanks! (I think )

Hi guys, been out of the brush loop for awhile. that classic2 in best, i looked at the stats on that brush and can i assume it is a face lathering machine? kinda looks like a poor mans chubby?
thanks

Hi Ian,

as Bob says and I was hoping, it is a very dense brush with quite a short loft and should, indeed, be a face-lathering, soap-hoovering monster. The Classic and Classic 2 are not new brushes, but have been under the radar somewhat with the Simpson's headlines being devoted to Dukes, Chubbys, Tulips and Eagles.
I guess that it should be along the same lines as a Chubby1 in Best.

Thanks David, it sure looks like it, and maybe with the side benefit of not being too much of a lather hog. I have in the past got sidetracked ogling all the upscale knots but have started to feel that good old best may be the solution. and i am desperately trying not to head down that BAD path.

The path is well worn.............. and please don't follow my footsteps if you want to avoid SBAD. There are, however, worse things to throw your money at :001_cool:

Awesome score enjoy them, always loved the tulip!

Regards Grant

Thanks Grant- really looking forward to these two arriving!

Didn't even ask and SWMBO got me a Futur set with stand and brush!

The lady has her finger on the pulse! Nice!

I think I've got a Shavemac in Two-band D01 heading my way this holiday season...

Terrific! I'll look forward to your photos Hunter.

Ooooh!

The Tulip and Classic will be as different from each other as you can get, but I expect them to provide amazing lathering (I know the T2 does). It will be a Merry Christmas for sure.

You can say that again, brother. Two excellent choices. :yesnod:

My wife has a Simpson Colonel, a tub of ToBS Rose and Bigelow #1200 ASB hidden somewhere. I know because I ordered them, but she got to the boxes first. To feed my craving until Christmas, yesterday I bought some AoS Sandalwood cream locally so it's off the credit card and no box on the porch.

Nice Marco! I will be looking forward to your thoughts on the Classic2.

Truefitt and Hill Rooney 3/1

But I submit a list of 50+ items so that I am surprised by what she picks :p May not be shaving related at all.

Surely you could trim the list to make sure that she focuses on what is important?! :biggrin1:
