In need of help

Hi, first of: good evening to all!

I decided to drop by this forum because it seemed like the appropriate place to ask this question (and also the place in which to get an equally appropriate answer).

Recently, I have started browsing for a safety blade, and I have managed to stumble upon one that fancies my liking: a W.M. enders Dollar hoe safety Razor. But before I do get to purchase the given product, I would like to know if there are any razors nowadays that would fit into it.

I would deeply appreciate it if someone took the time to answer to the aforementioned question.

Welcome to B&B, Yes I believe they would fit but wouldnt do you much good. I believe those were made for carbon blades not todays stainless blades.

I'm not sure if any modern blades will fit, but you have come to the right place to ask.

Edit: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=107871 doesn't sound promising. You might be better served by starting with a more mainstream vintage razor. What attracted you to the Enders? Perhaps we can suggest something similar.

Hummmm, assuming that there are no modern blades that can fit, could you point me to other options taking in account that Im looking for something vintage.

I really like the overall design of the blade, the fluency of the lines, and the proportion of the measures (the width and the length)

Take a look at http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=11 - I believe the market favors buyers right now, so your timing is good.

For your first razor you might enjoy a Tech, a Super Speed, or an adjustable. You might also consider an SE like the GEM or injector, but those are less mainstream. You should be able to find a nice user-grade razor for $20, more or less.

If you like the style of that, perhaps you would fancy a rolls. Designed to last a lifetime, hone and strop built into the case so you always have a sharp blade - and definitely vintage.

The super speeds are here: http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece solid guard bar/solid guard bar.htm (and there are a number for sale right now - for example http://www.badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=153242). They are single-piece, twist-to-open (TTO) razors from the 40s and later.

The three you picked out look like a fat-handle Tech, a ball-end Old, and an "aristocrat" Old. The first one is probably the best to start with. The others are open-comb, which generally require better technique.

If you search B/S/T for "Tech" you might see some offers that interest you.
