In-Grown Hairs

There was a thread a while ago about Tend-skin... If I remember correctly the consensus was that it worked... but would probably give you cancer in the long run. :biggrin1:

Anyone have any comments on that?

Top Ten things you say to a guy who uses Tend-Skin:

10. "My, that's a lovely, gangrenous aroma emanating from your red, bumpy, pus-filled sores. What is it?"

9. "Something stinks in here. Oh, it's you."

8. "Close the window. I think we're downwind of the pulp mill today."

7. "When my dog starts smelling like that, I know it's time to take him outside."

6. "When was the last time you actually bathed?"

5. "Jeez, who taught you how to wipe?"

4. "Did you just fart, or exfoliate?"

3. "With an aftershave like that, why bother brushing your teeth?"

2. "I've always wondered what death smells like."

And the number one thing you say to a guy who uses Tend-Skin is...

1. "Pee-yew."

I am testing Anthony Ingrown Hair Treatment at the moment - so far I at satisfied with the results. A few weeks og use should tell if the product does what it promises.

Anyone ever try AOS overnight treatment?

I've tried it. I can't speak to how it works for ingrowns because it was so strongly scented (not like Tend-Skin - more of a sickly sweet orange scent) and so heavy in texture that I ended up washing it off after ten minutes.

My feeling about ingrown hair products is that they largely are not necessary. With the occasional ingrown, a person can simply free it with tweezers or the tip of a needle. If a person is getting them frequently, in most cases it's shaving technique that is the problem, usually shaving too closely, or using a multiblade razor. (The few times I used a Fusion, it was ingrown city on my neck.) In my opinion, it is far better to adjust technique and prevent ingrowns in the first place than to spend money on another product and try to treat them after the fact.

I wholeheartedly agree. I used to get a lot of ingrown hairs just about every time I shaved. Since switching to a DE and being careful with my technique around my neck, I have only had 1 ingrown hair that I freed with tweezers.

+1 Shave every day or every other day (so length doesn't get too long) if you have fast/tough growth. Go slow and careful. Get a great Lather, lather lather , spot on with your blade angle and you should be very happy. also rinse blade and keep strokes short.
