images on old threads

I was trying to look at brush restoration

Step-by-step Ever-Ready brush restoration

I am posting a step-by-step pictorial brush restoration. 1.) cut the bristles down 2.) drill out old bristles 3.) file scratches (I use my wife's fingernail file.) 4.) polish with Flitz 5.) set new knot in marine epoxy mix (photo forthcoming)

it would seem that there used to be pictures but I don’t even see the empty boxes or bad links

Looking through the source on that it looks like whatever links to images may have existed at one time didn't simply break or get permissioned into submission, but have gone missing altogether. So that post is not like the one the OP reported. Different problem / root cause.

Meanwhile, all images on posts from the last few years work fine, it tends just to be on stuff from a while ago.

I see the same as you, and have noticed the missing pics on old post also for a while now.

Thanks much! We've not been able to see some for over a decade so I suspect we can wait a few weeks or months, just nice to know we'll eventually have the opportunity. Appreciate the time that you guys spend to keep the lights on around here.

Edit: heh, maybe we could see them a year ago come to think, I have no idea how long they were unavailable

Just to clarify...many of the old photos were hosted off site. These will not be recovered if the link is broken. Best practice is to use the attach files option or the BnB gallery to add photos to a thread.

Not to rush anyone, but curious how this is going? Hopefully it's not insurmountable?
