What's new

I'm torn between old and new

Best of both worlds — a new razor that just looks really old.

Or get a seventy year old razor that is also brand new - the Merkur 500. My grandfather used one and I can say he chose well.

But I would also say that modern style, precision CNC-machined razors are something quite different from vintage razors. I think it makes a lot of sense for you to try a new Razorock or a Henson or a Goodfellas’ Styletto - all well under $100 and I believe you will feel the difference in manufacturing precision.

As nice and shiny the modern boutique razors are, there is still a romantic nostalgia that only the vintages can provide. Here is my squadron of flare tips; a red, white, and blue, and an adjustable by a Lego U2. They are all original except for the red tip repaint.
