What's new

I'm still alive!

Whew! Well, first wet shave is in the books. No blood. (yes, I know...it'll happen :001_tongu )

Thanks to ALL the great advice and resources provided on this forum. I have A LOT to learn.

I have FAR from a BBS or DFS but baby steps. I will try to be patient.

I felt it was a pretty smooth shave. No pulling or snagging. (damn I was nervous  )

I didn't have much "peaks" in my lather. I used Proraso cream. It was more smooth. It seemed to work but maybe you guys could tell me what I could do to get the desired consistency which seems to involve a multi peaked lather on the brush.

Thanks all!!!!

Ok, so Astras loaded in a 38C right?...very nice kit to start with!!!!

Congrats on the first shave!!! and no blood too...you did better than me on my first shave.:thumbup1: It's just the first of many more, and as good as the first shave seemed, they will just keep getting better and better. So enjoy it, just take your time and enjoy it.

What was your prep? In other words how did you get your beard ready for shave? and what cream or soap did you use?

I honored to be the first to congratulate you!!! Let me know if you need help with anything, I'd be glad to help.

Wow, you're paying attention! haha

Yep. It seems to be a good set up thanks to a lot of good advice from B&B members! Going to order some Personna Red and Crystals soon. I will not vary anything for a while. Need to work on technique!

A blade sampler from Bullgoose or WCS will help you on deciding what blades you prefer. Stay at it and practice. Lather seems to sound like a water issue...try a little less...oh and welcome to B&B

You're doing things the right way. Just keep going slow and work on your technique. Things will improve quickly, and it sounds like you're enjoying shaving. :thumbup1:

Great setup! I started with the same brush and razor and proraso as well. Love them! Good luck, things will get better everytime. practice makes perfect!

Good choice on the razor (I bought the same one :thumbup1:). I remember my first shave not so long ago. I was nervous too and I am certain the lather wasn't very good.

Welcome to the clan!

+1 Congratulations keep at it. This is only the beginning:thumbup1:

Good to hear everything went well...as the others have said, it can only get better. I started with Proraso and still come back to it at least once a week. The stuff is awesome! :thumbup1:

The 1st of many! Good job!

Just think, days from now, you will be amazed @ what you now know and your technique will be much improved also. By this time too, you will start looking for other shaving gear to acquire-why?

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!!!
