What's new

If you had $100 for shaving purposes.....

If you already had the brush, razor, blades, cream, ASB that made you happy and yet you fell into $100 as a gift that you wanted to spend on shaving accoutrement, what would you spend it on?

Your responses will have a profound effect on my life so please respond sagely.

I would buy a reconditioned/honed classy old straight razor and a strop. Try something new I guess...

That Tulip 3 I just bought that I don't need.....

Seriously thought. A huge soap and cream sampler would be tempting, but if it is a special treat, I would go with something more permanent. Probably either a Saville Row or Shavemac (because they have some fantastic brushes that can actually be had for $100). Or possibly a razor. No, NOT a vision. A really really nice old Gillette, say #66/#16, Gold 48-50 Aristocrat, Aristocrat Gold adjustable, something like that. Nice and near minty and with its box (the degree of mintiness possible at that price would depend on which model, but for any of them, a minty razor should be possible, with a box in at least good shape).

Edit: Dennis also has a very very good suggestion. I would probably do that too, if I was totally happy with all of my DE equipment (I keep buying brushes because I am not quite satisfied there).

I'd go with a better brush. Can't have too many of them, I hear. My C&E $35 seems to do a good job, but I'm hankering for a Simpsons or Rooney.

Take that $100 and buy another brush, particularly if it's a brush that you may be lusting after, even if you have to add a bit more money. :badger: :shaving:

Perfect timing on this thread, here I sit with a $100 in my wallet I have been trying to figure out what shaving stuff to buy, lol

I'm stuck between a new brush or trying out HydroLast (cube, paste, cutting balm) since I like the AS conditioner so much.

Decisions...

A new brush. Too bad someone just grabbed one from under my nose....

Sorry about that....

I guess if those cologne samples I ordered all smell like crusellas, I'll know why

I would get a bunch of Riks decants -you could have a really nice variety of scents to play around with for 100.00.

I'd use my flight benefits and fly to Vegas and get myself a nice barber shave and then blow the rest in a casino! :w00t: :badger:

I'd spend it on a lesson in SE razor shaving at Trumpers in London. Actually that's something I'm considering doing anyway when my new razor arrives.

After the shave there would be no more left!

No question it would be a brush. The SBAD has hit me pretty hard, I have purchased two brushes this week!
Cheers, DJ.

I'd purchase a really nice shaving travel kit and use the leftover funds to fill it up as best as I could.

Much love for the great suggestions. It seems that brush-lust is running pretty strong around here.

I'll have to do some looking around.
