What's new

If you could only have one it would be _______

I've only been doing this for a month but I've had my best results so far with the following setup

Razor: Gillette SS TV Special
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: VDH Premium Badger Hair
Pre-shave: Proraso pre/post
Soap: CO Bigelow (Proaso Green)
Aftershave: Proraso Green

Haven't tried a ton of things yet. Don't find aftershave that necessary.

Razor: Gillette Fat Boy

Blade: Feather
Soap: MWF
Cream: TOBS Almond (for now, trying Mr Taylor next)
Brush: Simpson chubby 3 in Best
Shampoo: Queen Charlotte Soaps shampoo bar "cedarwood and rosemary"
Pomade: suavecito

Razor: Gillette Black Beauty Long Handle Adjustable Blade: Personna Med Preps Brush: Franks Shaving Pur Tech 28mm Pre-shave: WSO Pre Shave Oil (Brand new product -just got a pre sale testers sample - love it) Soap: Synergy Bay Rum Aftershave: Masters Bay Rum

razor: Merkur Progress
blade: Astra SP
brush: Simpson Berkeley in Best
soap: Valobra stick
pre: KMF unscented
post: Proraso splash

But ask me again after the Christmas presents hit.

Gillette Long Comb NEW / Astra SP
Proraso green tub or tube.
Omega Hi Brush Synthetic Barber pole.
Proraso green AS Splash.
Nivea for men sensitive skin aftershave balm.

First, I will add my appreciation for the brunette ladies.

Now the list:

Razor: '64 Super Speed (always subject to change)
Blade: Lord Platinum (same as above)
Cream: Proraso
Brush: Omega Synthetic
AS: Nivea Sensitive (Winter), Alcolado Glacial (Summer)

If I could only have one, why on earth would I be hanging out here???

I'm too new at this game to have any strong opinions yet. Ask me again in 39 years (the amount of time I spent messing around with bad hardware and software). I started with my dad's Black Beauty. Should have stuck with that.

I could live with my:

Simpsons Classic 2 Best
Merkur Progress
Feather blades
Sampsons Marisol balm

Soaps & Creams ??? Hm? Jury is still out on that. I've tried Proraso Sensitive soap, balm and pre-shave ... meh. Arko stick ... handy for travel. Madame Scodioli Step Right Up soap ... wife likes the scent ... I like the glide. Hyrdolast ... I know CAR stimulates "controversy" in these parts and the stuff is messy when I mix it in his shave cloth, but it is slippery as hell and smells good. Osma ... got this one as a freebie with an order from TSS ... it's okay. Waiting on Santa (via VintageBlades) for some grapefruit TOBS and Joe/IB for a few RazorRock samples and a tub of XX.

Razor: Weber Bulldog ARC
Blade: Super Iridium
Brush: Simpson Eagle G3 in Best
Soap: Art of Shaving Lavender
Aftershave: Speick ASL
Fragrance: Creed Windsor

Razor: ATT R1 Kronos
Blades: Gillette Silver Blue
Soap/Cream: MdC / Castle Forbes Lime
AS: Neumann's Lime and Mint Rum
Cologne: Creed Himalaya
Brush- Rooney 3/1 Badger

Keep in mind that I'm new and on a budget LOL
Razor- Slim-adjusted to 9
Blade- Shark Super Chromes
Brush/Soap- Van Der Hagen (all I have tried so far)
Pre-shave- Nothing ATM
Aftershave- I use Old Spice first then when that dries I use Mennen's Afta: Fresh (blue label) from Wolly World.
BTW: that brings up a question...I have been shaving with D/E for a little more than a week now and have noticed that aftershave burns a lot more then when I used cartridges. I don't mind, I was just wondering if I was doing something wrong.

Thanks
