If you could choose any razor…

For me it would be a straight razor of:
  • Japanese ACRO stainless steel heat treated to near 70 RHC.
  • Half-hollow grind with slight belly on the face side.
  • 11/16 blade width.
  • Spanish point like the Gold Dollar W59.
  • Thumb notch like the Gold Dollar W59.
  • Blade mass moment of inertia like the Gold Dollar W59.
  • No blade bling.
  • Bevel angle at about a 16°.
  • A properly honed bevel.
  • Ebony scales of traditional profile.
  • No stabilisers.
  • No jimps.
  • Balance point at about the pivot pin when opened 180°.
Of course this would have to be custom made.
I guess you are not really sure what you want

I would choose a razor that never gives a cut a nic or a weeper. For me I would have a hard time picking just one, that’s why I rotate with different shaving methods.

I know what I want. I am waiting for my local SR maker to return home from the Northern Territory, Australia. Then I will be ordering my first custom SR. I will probably not be able to get the steel that I prefer but should be able to at least get very close to all of my other requirements.

I was only saying that in jest, I meant nothing Ill by it good luck

Picking only one razor would be boring and almost like returning to cartridge razors. But if I really have to pick only one razor for the rest of my life, that would be my Schick M3 adjustable.
