What's new

If the PILS and Feather Stainless met in the ring WWE style...

...which would get the Camel Clutch?

But seriously... any opinions, especially from those who have used both?

The PILS has a mean superfly off of the top rope, but the Feather can deliver a supplex that will put just about any other contender down for the full count....

Dude, you know that you will never be able to choose between the two of them. You must buy both.

Damn this thing looks cool...

DJ, let me put it to you this way:

It's not the PILS that will be going up against the Feather stainless WWF style.

It will be the PILS and the Feather going up against your wallet and credit card is a steel cage tag-team grudge match.

And I think we know how that will end up....:a11::a13::a6:

Maybe a little competition from Feather will get the cost of the Phils in line. My Feather is on the way. Still thinking about the Phils. (I know I will buy one someday)

meh. go buy a lux. 100% stainless and much better on the wallet! (i got mine for $15, a friend got theirs for $5) delivers a great shave too.

besides, who doesn't love a soviet era collectible?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but what is it? Also, what is a PILS and what type of Feather razor is being compared? Thanks for keeping me straight.

Bill

The Pils looks unique, for sure, but it's almost as if someone knocked it together using odds and ends from their garage. The Feather looks so clean, classic and modern all at the same time.....

That said, the Pils is a serious hunk of steel.

The PILS is the razor pictured above. It comes in an all Stainless model as well as other models. The other razor we're talking about is the Feather All Stainless, a brand-new offering from Feather of Japan.

PILS razors are sold at Gentleman's Best. You can go to their website and take a look.

there is already a long thread about the new all stainless steel Feather razor. It's on this forum. Take a look at the thread. Good pictures of the razor there, too.

This thing looks like your not suppose to know its a razor

Something about the PILS reminds me of the gun the assassin uses in The Day of the Jackal (the original, not the execrable Bruce Willis "remake")

Slightly sinister, effective, and very cool

Both of 'em are incredible razors. RAD grabbed me by the collar and forced a purchase of both. This... after having the gall to think the DE89L was my one'n'only.

It's hard to fault either, they're both incredible. I give a slight nod to the Feather for being a little more aggressive. Still, the Pils holds its own.

Both are better in person than photographs show. Once you hold
one in your hand and see the workmanship, it's hard not to fall in love.

I've only had both for about a week and keep going back and forth between the two. I think I'll drop a Feather into the Pils tonight and see how it handles that.

That is interesting. I felt that the Feather was the more mild of the two. There is something about the blade pitch in relation to the guard on the Pils that I really like when you get that angle right. The sound it makes while shaving is just awesome to me. The feather blade in the Pils is my go to.

For me, the Pils wins with the figure four over the Feather.

Do you guys not find the PILS a little hard to maneuver around tights spots, like under the nose? I've yet to try it but it reminds me of the Futur in this regard, with it's bulky head.

I'll weigh in on which I like better at some point but it'd be like asking which kid somebody loves more.

What is all this borderline whining about shaving under the nose? One merely has to pull the upper lip downward with facial gestures, or pull the nose up out of the way, to shave! For that matter, upward or sideways strokes can be used , especially with a truly "bulky head" razor, like the Gem 1912....
