Greetings all - first post in this sub-forum. My wife's sense of smell is sensitive, to the point that the wrong scents really irritate her sinuses. I've slowly come to realize that my favorite aftershaves (Clubman, the Veg, etc.) are not going to earn me any points, so I've switched over to a lightly scented ASB that she likes (C&E Nomad). The scent from that fades pretty quickly, so I want to follow up with a EdT.
We happened to be at Belk's yesterday, so we stopped by the men's fragrances to sample a few. Of the ones that we tried - Mont Blanc Legend, Giorgio Acqui di Gio, and several Chanel offerings (Platinum, Bleu, and something else), as well as Burberry (Brit?), she like the Mont Blanc Legend the most. She referred to its "subtleness" as a hallmark. Not sure if "subtleness" means projection, or something else.
On the way home, I asked her to describe her likes and dislikes in men's fragrances. She said that she likes floral scents, and vanilla. She does not like citrus scents or woodsy scents (she has allergies).
I'm thinking that she picked up on germanium in the Mont Blanc, based on reviews I've read. By the way, my sense of smell is NOT anywhere near as discerning as hers.
OK, so getting to the point - I have a local mom and pop shop that specializes in fragrances, and carries both classic fragrances as well as the department store fragrances. I'd like to visit there before making a decision, but would like to narrow the choices down so that I can reduce the chance that my wife will sniff something that really irritates her. So, if my wife really likes the Mont Blanc Legend, what other men's fragrances do you think she would like - classic or modern?
